We Don’t Do That Over Here – Tems Reveals Why She Can’t Date Nigerian Celebrities
Grammy award-winning singer Tems has shared her view on romantic relationships with Nigerian celebrities, saying she does not see herself dating or approaching them for love.
Naija News reports that she made the comment while speaking during the recent BET Awards weekend interview.
The songstress was asked if she would make a move on Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye if she had the chance.
In her response, she said she knows who he is but does not have a personal relationship with him.
She added that she prefers to keep relationships within the Nigerian entertainment space strictly friendly.
According to her, she views her male colleagues as brothers and treats them like family, which removes any romantic interest from that circle.
She said, “I know who Maduka Okoye is but I don’t know him personally. I wish I did though. But shooting shots at him, we don’t do that over here.
“We [Nigerian celebrities] friend each others and we are family. I see my male colleagues as brothers.”
In other news, Tems has has said she was nervous during her performance at the official dedication ceremony of the Obama Presidential Centre in Chicago, United States.
The singer made the revelation on 𝕏 after performing at the high-profile event on Wednesday, where she joined several international music stars in celebrating the opening of the new centre.
Tems later shared her thoughts on social media after mistakenly calling the daughters of former U.S. President Barack Obama by the wrong names while speaking on stage.
