PDP Is The Only Party Challenging APC – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is the only party challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as the opposition party in the country.

Naija News reports that he made the declaration on Monday while speaking in Abuja during a project commissioning following Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti State and bye-elections in other parts of the country.

Directing his message to President Bola Tinubu, who was represented at the event by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Wike congratulated the APC on winning most of Saturday’s elections and the PDP on maintaining its status as the leading opposition party.

According to the Minister, opposition is not about talking, but it’s about challenging the ruling party and the PDP is the only party doing that.

In his words, “Let me use this opportunity, Mr. President, to congratulate your party (APC) for winning Saturday’s by-election and also congratulate my party (PDP) for maintaining the opposition.

“In every political setting, there must be winners, and there must be opposition. Today we have seen the ruling party and the opposition party.

“Opposition party is not by talking, it’s about challenging the ruling party, and we are the only party that is challenging the ruling party so we are the leading opposition party.”
