‘You Don’t Have To Show Your Boobs To Be Sexy’ – Shaffy Bello Advises Young Women
Veteran Nollywood actress, Shaffy Bello, has warned young women against wearing revealing clothes to improve their self-worth.
She argued that young women should not equate sexiness with revealing bodies.
Naija News reports that she made the remark during an interview on The Morayo Show, hosted by Morayo Afolabi-Brown,
The full interview was published on the show’s official YouTube channel on May 21, with clips later circulating widely across 𝕏 and other platforms.
Addressing the pressures faced by young women, Bello said they do not need to chase online attention or expose their bodies to be seen as attractive or successful.
She said, “There are too many young girls out there who need to hear that the seeds they sow matter.
“They need to hear, ‘No, you don’t have to show your boobs to be sexy.’ They need to hear, ‘No, you don’t have to shake your bum bum to go viral or get attention.”
Meanwhile, Bello has given unconventional advice to young women about being a commercial sex worker.
Naija News reports that Bello, while featuring in a recent episode of the Moraya Show, said ladies involved in prostitution should do the work unashamedly.
According to the movie star, ladies engage in commercial sex work for survival or pressing needs.
Bello said she does not judge them but rather encourages them to do it well with respect.
She, however, warned that women who go into sex work due to pressing needs should not stay there permanently.
She said, “If what you are doing now is being a ‘runs girl’ to make money, you don’t have to stay there. I understand it, I never judge. If you go be ashawo, do am well. Do it well with respect and your full chest.
“However, don’t stay there. If that is what you have to do right now to make a living. Some girls are doing it because they need to feed their mom, send their younger ones to school. I understand it. However, my darlings, don’t stay there.”
