My Heart Is In My Mouth When On The Road – Kunle Afolayan Reacts To Insecurity
Nollywood filmmaker Kunle Afolayan has expressed concern over the growing cases of insecurity and kidnappings across Nigeria, saying the situation has left many citizens living in fear.
Naija News reports that in a post shared on his Instagram, the filmmaker said he was deeply troubled by reports of kidnappings and other security challenges being experienced in different parts of the country.
According to him, many Nigerians now go about their daily activities with uncertainty and fear.
Afolayan stated that travelling on Nigerian roads has become worrying for many people, adding that he shares the concerns of families who are anxious about their safety and well-being.
The actor also called attention to the responsibility of government and security agencies in addressing the situation, while offering prayers for the protection of citizens.
He wrote: “My heart is heavy with the disturbing stories of kidnappings and insecurity across our nation. It is painful that many of us now go about our daily lives with fear and uncertainty.
“My heart is in my mouth when on the road these days. I share in the concerns of countless families and pray for our safety. May the perpetrators whether the government of the day or those hiding in disguise meet their doom. The night may be long, but dawn has never failed to come.
“Nigeria has weathered many storms, and each time, the light of its people has endured. Though today’s headlines may bring fear and sadness, let us not surrender our faith in tomorrow.”
