Prophet Isa El-Buba Dumps Peter Obi, Backs Another Presidential Candidate

Renowned cleric and convener of the Initiative for a Better and Brighter Nigeria, Prophet Isa El-Buba, has withdrawn support for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Naija News reports that El-Buba declared support for the presidential ambition of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, Prince Adewole Adebayo, ahead of the 2027 general election.

Addressing party faithful, youth leaders and delegates in Bauchi State, El-Buba said his decision was driven by the need to protect Nigeria’s democratic plurality and prevent what he described as a drift toward totalitarian politics.

He described the gathering as a turning point in the country’s political direction.

El-Buba said Adebayo possesses the vision needed to restore Nigeria’s values and rebuild public trust.

He added that the nationwide structure of his IBBN movement would be deployed to mobilise grassroots support for the SDP candidate.

The cleric warned politicians against relying on money and food items to influence voters.

“Nobody will buy the conscience of Nigeria with money or a bag of rice. Nigerians are tired, and it is time to recover the glory of our country,” El-Buba said.

El-Buba congratulated the SDP leadership on what he described as a peaceful convention and urged the party to remain united.

He expressed optimism that the new political alignment would mark the beginning of a national rebirth and a prosperous Nigeria.
