‘I Won NDC Primaries, Nothing Is Disputing It’ – Omo-Agege Fires Back At Critics
Former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, has ridiculed critics over speculations of losing Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial primary for Delta Central.
Naija News reports that Omo-Agege, speaking during an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Wednesday, insisted that he emerged victorious in the exercise and there was no dispute over the outcome of the primary election.
The former lawmaker said he won the primary election across all eight local government areas in the senatorial district and expressed confidence that the party would formally confirm the result.
He said, “If you believe that I lost a primary in NDC, then I have a plot of land to sell to you in the middle of the Atlantic.
“I won the primaries of the NDC total, as in all eight local government areas. I don’t think there’s any disputing that now. You can take it to the bank that I have won that primary, 100 per cent.”
Omo-Agege, who claimed to have the results in his possessio, emphasises that the NDC had instructed candidates to await the official announcement of results by the party.
He further revealed that the party’s National Executive Committee, NEC, was scheduled to meet on Wednesday to ratify the outcomes of the primaries.
He added, “Today, there’s a NEC meeting of NDC. I’m just five or six days old in the party now, by the way, and I’m told I’m a member of the NEC. At the NEC meeting Today, we’re going to be ratifying those results.
“At the risk of giving you insider information, I can tell you that there’s no contention whatsoever as to who won the senatorial primary in Delta Central. I won it.
“I am the candidate, but I would rather wait for the party to formally make that announcement.”
