Gunmen Abduct Woman, Toddler In Kogi Community

Suspected terrorists on Wednesday evening invaded the Ijalu area of Egbe in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State, abducting a woman and her toddler.

Naija News reports that the victims were identified as Mrs Idowu Kemi Titilayo and her young child.

According to Sahara Reporters, they were reportedly taken away during the raid along the Solid Rock School axis of the community.

Community sources said the gunmen stormed the area around dusk, firing sporadically and forcing residents to run for safety.

A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity for security reasons, said the attackers operated for several minutes without resistance.

The source who spoke on the incident said, “The terrorists came suddenly, and everybody started running. They were heavily armed, and people could not confront them.

“They abducted Mrs. Kemi and her little child and disappeared into the surrounding area before help could come.”

The source said the attack had thrown the community into panic. According to him, residents now live in fear as attacks in the area become more frequent.

“This incident has created serious tension in the community. People are afraid because these attacks are becoming too frequent. We are appealing to security agencies to act quickly and rescue the woman and her child,” the source said.
