‘He Doesn’t Know How To Do It’ – Tinubu’s Aide, Bwala Launches Fresh ‘Attack’ On Peter Obi

The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has criticised the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, accusing him of lacking clear plans on how to govern the country.

Naija News reports that Bwala, in a post on 𝕏 on Monday, said Obi’s political messaging was built around identifying problems without providing practical steps to solve them.

The comment came shortly after Obi emerged as the presidential candidate of the NDC for the 2027 general election.

Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, had contested the 2023 presidential election on the platform of the Labour Party.

Following his emergence as the NDC candidate, Obi listed six strategies he said he would use to tackle insecurity, economic challenges and unemployment if elected President in 2027.

However, Bwala dismissed the former Anambra governor’s proposals, saying Obi had not demonstrated enough understanding of how to implement his ideas.

Posting on 𝕏, Bwala wrote, “@PeterObi‘s entire political character and ideology is hinged on what, but he doesn’t have a single how to do it.”

Bwala’s comment adds to the growing political exchanges expected to shape the build-up to the 2027 election.

Obi had, after securing the NDC ticket at the party’s national convention in Abuja on Saturday, promised to increase Nigeria’s electricity generation and distribution capacity to at least 10,000 megawatts within four years if elected President.

The pledge formed part of his broader campaign message on economic recovery, job creation and improved public services.

His emergence as the NDC presidential candidate has also drawn renewed attention to his policy proposals and the political movement around him ahead of the next general election.

Meanwhile, in another post on X earlier, Bwala also took aim at Arise Television anchor Rufai Oseni, accusing him of acting as an unofficial spokesman for Obi.

Bwala alleged that Oseni’s recent questioning of Obi on his electricity plan was only an attempt to appear neutral while allegedly supporting the former Anambra governor.

The broadcaster had challenged Obi during a media engagement on how he intended to achieve his electricity target if elected President.

Reacting, Bwala wrote, “That anchor thinks he is deceiving us by saying he challenges @PeterObi on his plans to generate power as if he is not the unofficial spokesman of Peter Obi.

“Be courageous and bold and be a man by taking a leave of absence and or sabbatical from Arise News and join Peter Obi’s campaign and test his capacity.”
