Onuachu Wins Süper Lig Goal Of The Season Award

Paul Onuachu has been named winner of the Süper Lig Goal of the Season award for the 2025/26 campaign after his spectacular bicycle kick for Trabzonspor against Fatih Karagümrük.

The Nigerian striker claimed the honour for his stunning effort in Trabzonspor’s 4-2 win during the Week Seven fixture on September 27, 2025, beating competition from Beşiktaş midfielder Orkun Kökçü and Fenerbahçe forward Marco Asensio.

Onuachu produced the moment of brilliance after meeting a cross from Wagner Pina. The Super Eagles forward launched himself into the air and connected with an acrobatic overhead kick that left goalkeeper Ivo Grbić with no chance.

Announcing the award on Sunday, the league said: “You chose, he won. The winner of the most beautiful goal of the 2025/26 Trendyol Süper Lig season has been determined: Paul Onuachu.”

The individual accolade caps another impressive season for the 31-year-old, who played a leading role in Trabzonspor’s attack throughout the campaign.

Onuachu finished the season with 22 league goals and two assists, ending as the division’s joint top scorer alongside İstanbul Başakşehir striker Eldor Shomurodov.

The Nigerian had looked set to claim the Golden Boot outright after embarking on a remarkable 10-match scoring run that took him to 22 league goals. However, a slowdown in the closing weeks of the season allowed Shomurodov to draw level.

Despite that, it was another productive year for Onuachu, who had previously scored 15 league goals during his loan spell before sealing a permanent move to the Turkish club.

Attention has now turned to his future amid reports linking him with a move away from Trabzonspor. Several Saudi Arabian clubs are said to be monitoring the striker and are reportedly prepared to offer significantly improved terms.
