Where Is The Proof? – Atiku Fires Back At Babachir Lawal Over Rigging Claims

African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has reacted to allegations made by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, regarding the party’s presidential primary election.

Naija News reports that Lawal had announced his resignation from the party and, in doing so, alleged that Atiku played a role in determining the outcome of the ADC primaries conducted nationwide.

He also questioned the credibility of the exercise and claimed that the process was not conducted fairly.

Reacting to the allegations, Atiku criticized Lawal for attacking the primary process and accused him of making claims without providing any proof.

In a statement issued through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, the former vice president accused Lawal of damaging the image of the party and its members through allegations that were not backed by evidence.

He maintained that the presidential primary reflected the choice of party members across the country and rejected suggestions that the process had been manipulated.

According to Shaibu, Lawal had not presented any documents, witnesses, or verifiable facts to support his claims. He argued that the accusations were based on speculation rather than evidence.

The truth is straightforward. The ADC presidential primaries were conducted across thousands of wards and produced a clear and decisive outcome. What Mr Lawal has offered Nigerians is not evidence.

“He has produced no documents, no verifiable facts, no credible witnesses, and no proof whatsoever to support his sensational allegations,” the statement read.
