Babachir Lawal Likens Atiku To Bandit Kingpin, ‘Kachalla’
A former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, has likened former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, to a bandit kingpin, “Kachalla,” after resigning from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Naija News reports that Lawal made the comparison in a post on his Facebook page while accusing the ADC of manipulating its recently concluded primaries in favour of Atiku.
The former SGF had earlier announced his resignation from the party, alleging that the process was not credible.
Lawal claimed that the ADC primaries were massively rigged at all levels.
“Concluded primaries were at all levels massively rigged in favour of Kachalla Abubakar Atiku,” he wrote.
He said he would not be part of what he described as Atiku’s political machinery ahead of the 2027 general election.
“I do not intend to be part of Kachalla Atiku’s rigging machine in the 2027 general elections,” Lawal said.
The former SGF argued that supporting Atiku would strengthen President Bola Tinubu’s chances of securing a second term.
“For me, working for Kachalla Atiku means giving Tinubu an automatic ticket to a second term, which gives me nightmares,” he stated.
Lawal said he would return to his village to focus on farming. He added that he would continue consulting with political associates on ways to stop Atiku from winning the presidency in 2027.
