APC Suspends Federal Lawmaker, LG Vice Chairman, Six Others

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State has suspended a serving member of the House of Representatives, a local government vice chairman and six other party officials over alleged anti-party activities.

Naija News gathered that the decision was announced by the APC State Executive Committee, which said the move was aimed at protecting party discipline and internal unity.

Those suspended include Ibrahim Usman Auyo, who represents Auyo, Kafin Hausa and Hadejia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Also affected are Auyo Local Government Vice Chairman, Ibrahim Ayama, the party’s Deputy State Women Leader, Aisha Adamu Auyo, and five other officials.

In a statement signed by the APC State Chairman, Ahmed Garba, the party accused the affected members of engaging in activities considered harmful to the unity, stability and progress of the APC.

According to the statement, the allegations are linked to events that reportedly occurred in Auyo Local Government Area on May 26, 2026.

The party said the actions, if established, could amount to violations of its constitution, including acts of disloyalty and anti-party conduct.

The APC said the suspension became effective immediately and would remain in force pending the outcome of an investigation by the party’s State Disciplinary Committee.

During the suspension period, the affected members will not be allowed to represent the party in any capacity or participate in official party activities.

The APC assured that all affected members would be given the opportunity to defend themselves in accordance with the party’s constitution and principles of natural justice.
