2027: Kwankwaso Declares Peter Obi Will Be Sworn In As President

Former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed confidence that the 2027 presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, would emerge victorious in the 2027 presidential election.

Naija News reports that Kwankwaso stated this during the affirmation of the party’s consensus aspirants in Kano.

Kwankwaso described the affirmation exercise as a historic moment for the party, saying the peaceful emergence of consensus candidates demonstrated unity among members in the state.

He commended party leaders, elders and supporters for ensuring a smooth process across all constituencies in Kano.

According to the former Governor of Kano State, several constituencies recorded over 10 aspirants, but stakeholders agreed on candidates through consensus.

He said, “I’m talking about Peter Obi, he will be flying our flag, and by the grace of God, on May 29, exactly one year from now, he will have been sworn in as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Kwankwaso thanked members of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, the CRC, Lafiya Jari groups and the NNPP for supporting the exercise.

Also speaking at the event, the chairman of the party’s primaries committee, Mainasara Abubakar Sani, commended members for their cooperation during the process.

He stated, “We have received reports that the exercise was conducted successfully and peacefully. Kano members made our work easier.”
