Presidency Speaks On Tinubu Converting To Christianity

The presidency has dismissed a viral video claiming that President Bola Tinubu has converted from Islam to Christianity.

Naija News reports that, in the 8-minute video shared on 𝕏 by the Special Assistant to Tinubu on Social Media, Segun Dada, the President is alleged to have joined the Christian religion at a church gathering.

However, Dada described the video as a lie, noting that Tinubu has not converted.

Tinubu’s aide emphasised that the President has always been a Muslim and proudly supports his wife, who is a pastor.

He wrote, “Please disregard the video circulating claiming PBAT has converted. It is a lie…

“President Tinubu has always been a Muslim, while proudly supporting his wife, who is a Pastor. This unique interfaith harmony in his own home is what he brings to national leadership, which is unity and not conversion.”

Meanwhile, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has berated Tinubu’s administration for celebrating debt statistics despite the economic and security crisis plaguing the nation.

Atiku, in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, lamented that ransom payments have become as routine a household expense for Nigerians as school fees and rent.

The former vice president was responding to recent comments from the Presidency suggesting that Nigeria’s borrowing level compares favourably with some African countries.

According to him, the comparison exposed a dangerous disconnect between those in power and the grinding realities faced by ordinary Nigerians every day.
