I’m Going To Contest Again Despite Defeat At APC Reps Primaries – Chief Priest
Nigerian socialite Paschal Okechukwu also known as Chief Priest has said he is not giving up on his political ambition after failing to secure a House of Representatives ticket in the recent All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries.
Naija News reports that he made this known during a conversation on Beat FM 99.9, where he spoke about the reactions that followed his loss.
He said many people mocked him online and tried to make it look like he made a bad political choice, but he explained that the experience has not reduced his interest in politics.
According to him, what happened has instead given him a clearer understanding of how politics works in Nigeria and how long-term success is built through patience and planning.
He added that political progress often takes time and is not achieved in one attempt.
He drew comparison with the political journey of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting how the president spent years building influence, supporting other politicians, and waiting for the right time before eventually becoming president. He said this kind of process shows the importance of patience and timing in politics.
He also said he is taking lessons from that approach, explaining that stepping back at certain times and returning with better preparation can be part of a successful strategy.
He said: “President Tinubu sacrificed eight years and pushed President Buhari to first go before him. So what am I learning from my master? Patience, perseverance, knowing that you can step back, restrategize and hit at the right time. I will try again even if I lost before.
“That’s why I jumped into the studio and let them know this is still CP and in less than one week from that primary, CP has a new hit song banging out here.”
