President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Wednesday, observed the Eid al-Mubarak prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos State.
The President was joined by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, former Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola, the incumbent Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, and other Muslim faithful and dignitaries.
Meanwhile, President Tinubu has declared that Nigeria’s difficult period of economic reforms is over, saying the sacrifices made by citizens in the past three years have started yielding results.
Tinubu said the country had passed through a difficult phase but was now entering a period of stability, growth and renewed hope.
Naija News reports that the President stated this in his Eid-el-Kabir message to Muslim faithful in Nigeria and across the world.
His message came as the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio; Deputy Senate President, Jibrin Barau; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, and Governors called on Nigerians to embrace sacrifice, unity and national renewal during the celebration.
Tinubu linked the significance of Eid-el-Kabir to the sacrifices Nigerians had made under his administration’s economic reform programme.
He said the difficult decisions taken by the government had helped to stabilise the economy and improve Nigeria’s attractiveness to investors.
According to him, the reforms are now positioning the country for job creation, economic growth and fresh opportunities.
