Unity Cup: Chelle Unveils Super Eagles Lineup For Zimbabwe Clash

Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle has named his starting XI for the Super Eagles’ opening match of the 2026 Unity Cup against Zimbabwe later today, May 26.

The Super Eagles will begin the defence of their Unity Cup title at The Valley in Charlton, London, with kick-off scheduled for 7:30pm.

Chelle has opted for a blend of experience and fresh faces as the Super Eagles of Nigeria target a place in the final of the four-nation competition.

Maduka Okonkwo starts in goal behind a defensive line made up of Oputa, Igboke, Abdullahi and Ogbuderati. Nwaiwu, Azeez Beloso and Nnadi are expected to anchor the midfield, while Moffic, Tijani and Otele lead the attack against the Warriors of Zimbabwe.

The Nigerian bench includes Uzoho, Atata, Oyedokun, Adeoye, Elias, Durosinmi, Oseni and Ayobami, giving Chelle several options should the game become difficult.
