Ex NPA Boss Emerges ADC Governorship Candidate In Adamawa

Former Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Engr. Suleiman Omar, has secured the governorship ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 election in Adamawa State.

Naija News reports that Omar emerged victorious during the party’s governorship primary election held in Yola. He defeated two other aspirants who contested for the ticket.

The results were announced by the chairman of the ADC Governorship Primaries Committee, Dr. Nicholas Msheliza, after votes from the 21 local government areas in the state were counted.

According to the final figures released by the committee, Omar scored 143,216 votes to finish ahead of Hammantukur Modibo, who got 56,801 votes. Another contender, Umar Suleiman Uba, received 20,343 votes.

Following the announcement, the committee declared Suleiman Omar as the party’s officially elected governorship candidate for the state.

Omar previously served as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority. He also represented Nigeria as ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo during his time in public service.

In other news, a presidential aspirant in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, has disclosed his intention to snub the party’s election results announcement.

Naija News reports that the ADC held its presidential primaries across Nigeria on Monday, with results expected to be officially announced today.
