‘Johnny Drille Is Best Musician, Nobody Like Him In Nigerian Music Industry’ – Don Jazzy

Nigerian record producer cum music executive, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has claimed that singer Johnny Drille is the best musician in the Nigerian music industry.

Naija News reports that Don Jazzy, speaking in a recent episode of the Crea8torium podcast, said Johnny Drille has no rival in the Nigerian music industry.

The Mavin boss said Johnny Drille’s music is unique, stressing that he is versatile.

He said, “If you look at the Nigerian music industry right now, there is nobody like Johnny Drille. He is in a world of his own. He is like the best musician – the complete musician that I know. He is versatile. He mix, write, sing. He does everything.

“He is also an amazing performer – the way he sounds in the studio is the same way he sounds in live shows.” 

Meanwhile, Nigerian female sensational singer,  Tiwa Savage, has opened up about the difficulties she experienced during her transition from R&B to Afrobeats after returning to Nigeria in 2012.

Tiwa Savage, inspired by the growth of the Nigerian music industry, started her career abroad as a backup singer for artists such as George Michael and Mary J, before returning to Nigeria and signing with Mavin Records.

Tiwa Savage, in an interview with TVC, said she was able to transition from R&B to Afrobeats because her former label boss, Don Jazzy, made her believe talent is unlimited.

According to the ‘Kele Kele Love’ crooner, Don Jazzy opened her mind to many different things and convinced her that she could achieve anything if she focused on it.

Tiwa Savage added that she does not regret returning to Nigeria and transitioning from R&B to Afrobeats.
