Gabriel Jesus Backs Arsenal To Win Premier League Title

Gabriel Jesus has insisted that Arsenal will finally lift the Premier League trophy this season, stressing that the squad now has the strength and mentality to go all the way.

The Gunners sit nine points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table with seven matches remaining, putting them firmly in control of the title race.

Speaking on Rio Ferdinand Presents, Jesus left little doubt about his confidence.

“Very confident [we will win the title],” Jesus said. “Very confident, because we are in a good place and then we have [an] amazing squad.

“Not only those who play a lot of games, but also the squad. Like me, obviously, I haven’t been playing a lot in the last few games, but I still know myself, and I know Mikel knows this.

“I can come on and then I can decide a game, or I can play one game and then I still can decide again, you know. And with me it’s the same with Leo, it’s the same with Bukayo Saka, it’s the same with Noni Madueke, it’s the same with Gabriel Martinelli, with Kai Havertz. I’m talking about the attacking players.

“So it’s good. If you see our attacking players, it’s amazing. So I believe, I believe 100 per cent that this season we are doing something.”

Arsenal have finished as runners-up in the past three campaigns, but Jesus credited manager Mikel Arteta for transforming the club’s mentality and competitive edge.

“Obviously it’s Mikko, you know, because he changed everything. Like I said, we said before, he came in a tough moment,” he said.

“And then to see the way we play, the situation we have now, that we can win titles, you know, we are one of the best clubs in the world, teams in the world. So I think it’s Mikko Arteta, he had a lot of impact, you know.”
