Terrorists Kill Many Soldiers In Fresh Kebbi Attack

An unspecified number of Nigerian soldiers have been reportedly killed after a fresh terrorist attack in the Girinmasa area of Yauri Local Government Area in Kebbi State.

Naija News reports that security analyst, Bakatsine, made this known in a post via his 𝕏 handle on Tuesday.

According to the post, suspected Lakurawa fighters launched the attack on troops stationed in the area, resulting in casualties among the soldiers.

The post read, “Today, Lakurawa terrorists killed several Nigerian soldiers in Girinmasa, Yauri LGA of Kebbi State.

“May Allah have mercy on the fallen heroes and bring to end this insecurity ravaging Nigeria.”

As of the time of filing this report, military authorities have not issued an official statement regarding the attack.

In a similar development, no fewer than eight persons were killed on Monday when suspected terrorists detonated an improvised explosive device along Luma Road in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.

The attackers also reportedly destroyed a major bridge linking the Luma–Babana–Agwara communities, cutting off a vital route used by residents travelling to the Babana border market, which holds every Monday.

The destruction of the bridge has left residents stranded and disrupted economic activities in the area.

It was gathered that the attackers detonated additional explosive devices in other communities, forcing residents to flee for safety.

A source from the area told Vanguard the incidents occurred in the early hours of Monday, with the bombing of the bridge taking place around 5am.
