FCT Election: ‘Announce Results Now, Dr Mo Has Won’ – Obidient Coordinator Calls Out INEC

‎The National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Global, Yunusa Tanko, has alleged irregularities in the conduct of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council election on Saturday.

Naija News reports that Tanko accused officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of refusing to announce results from some polling areas where the candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) was reportedly leading.

‎According to him, results from Gwarinpa, Garki and Karu had been ready since about 9pm but were yet to be declared.

‎“The situation in this country is becoming more alarming than I thought. At the moment, reports reaching us in the Situation Room indicate that Gwarinpa, Garki and Karu results are ready since nine o’clock, and they refused to announce it just because Dr Mo is leading,” he said.

‎He further alleged that tension had escalated in the affected areas.

“That is why the chaos is everywhere within those particular places. At the moment, as we’re talking, there’s going to be heavy mobilization, teargas has been shot at everyone,” Tanko added.

‎Tanko Calls For Vigilance, Mobilisation

‎Tanko urged Nigerians and leaders of the ADC to resist what he described as an attempt to manipulate the outcome of the election.

‎“So now I’m using this opportunity to call on all Nigerians to be vigilant and come out in this respect. Yes, I know some people are saying, Why am I not there? I’m there myself.

‎“And this is the time also the political party leaders of the ADC must come out with a volume of positions saying no to this election rigging, because the target is to rig out Dr Mo who is already leading in this particular election.

‎“And this is the test that they are trying to arrange for the general election. We must battle this one now, and I’m urging everybody to come out, please, to the rescue of Dr Mo, because he has won this election.

‎“And that is why they are afraid. And they brought out all the governors manipulating and bringing all the money that they stole, with all due respect, but at this point in time, we don’t care.

‎“We just want to get the election correct and all please, let’s mobilize as quickly as possible. They must announce this result now,” he said.

‎As of the time of filing this report, the electoral commission had yet to officially respond to the allegations, Naija News reports.
