Fubara, Deputy Attend Salvation Ministries Service In Port Harcourt Amid Rivers Crisis

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Tuesday attended the Glory Reign 2026 programme held at the headquarters of Salvation Ministries in Port Harcourt.

Naija News reports that the annual programme was hosted by the Senior Pastor of the church, David Ibiyomie, and attracted political leaders, clerics and worshippers from within and outside Rivers State.

Governor Fubara was accompanied to the programme by a former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja, and Chief Theodore Georgewill.

Also present was the Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Ngozi Nma Odu, alongside other dignitaries and a large congregation of worshippers.

Delivering a sermon titled “Securing God’s Help Through Your Mind,” Pastor Ibiyomie admonished the congregation to consciously renew their minds, describing the mind as the control centre of human actions and decisions.

“The battle of life is in the mind, and it must be adequately guarded,” he said.

The cleric outlined several ways believers could position themselves for divine help, including acquiring knowledge, meditation, disciplined thinking, creativity, studying, positive reasoning and speaking positively over one’s mind.

Naija News understands that Fubara and his deputy’s attendance comes amidst the move by Rivers lawmakers aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to impeach both leaders.

Meanwhile, fresh findings have reportedly revealed that the ongoing impeachment move against Fubara is largely linked to his refusal to present a supplementary budget.

A senior source familiar with the crisis told SaharaReporters that the refusal angered lawmakers loyal to the former governor of the state and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, who were allegedly expecting fresh constituency allocations.

According to the source, Wike reportedly promised ₦10 billion worth of constituency projects to each pro-Wike lawmaker through a proposed supplementary budget, a move the governor declined to endorse.

“The main reason why the Rivers State House of Assembly members are trying hard to impeach Governor Fubara is based on the governor’s refusal to prepare a supplementary budget,” the source said.
