The Chairman, Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Linus Nto Mbah, has slammed Senator representing Abia North at the National Assembly, Orji Uzor Kalu, over claims that the state Governor, Alex Otti,  is only repainting the roads he (Kalu) built.

Naija News recalls that Kalu had, in a series of political gatherings, vowed to stop the re-election of Otti in 2027, accusing him of repainting roads in the state.

Reacting, Eze Mbah, in a statement on Monday, noted that the Umuahia -Uzuakoli Akara-Alayi-Abiriba road that leads to Igbere, the home town of Kalu, was completely reconstructed by Otti, and wondered why the Senator could have said that the Governor is just repainting roads.

He condemned the recent meeting convened by former Governors of Abia State at the residence of former Governor Theodore Orji, describing the meeting as a conspiracy to stop Otti’s re-election.

The monarch declared that Governor Otti will record a landslide victory in 2027 despite the alleged conspiracy.

According to him, opposition politicians are plotting to terminate the ongoing transformation in Abia and bring back the years of unpaid salaries, pensions, and dilapidated hospitals.

Eze Mbah, who cautioned politicians against violent statements, said that their “closed-door” meetings against Governor Otti will not succeed.

He said, “How could Orji Uzor Kalu have claimed that Governor Alex Otti is just repainting roads in Abia State, even when Otti completely reconstructed Umuahia-Uzuokali-Akara-Alayi-Abiriba road that leads to Igbere, the home town of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.

“Do they want to take us back to the days of owing salaries and pensions, time of infrastructural decay and abandonment of our healthcare and education system? It will not work.”
