Bandits Invade Katsina Communities, Abduct Several Residents

Several communities in Katsina State have been invaded by terrorists suspected to be bandits, killing and abducting residents during coordinated midnight attacks.

Naija News learnt that on Monday night, the bandits attacked Unguwar Alhaji Barau, Gidan Dan Mai-gizo, and Gidan Hazo communities, all located in Na’alma Ward of Malumfashi Local Government Area.

According to SaharaReporters, a security alert obtained disclosed that the attacks occurred on Monday night when heavily armed assailants invaded the affected areas, operating for hours and wreaking havoc on the communities.

Katsina State has remained one of the epicentres of banditry and violent attacks in Nigeria’s North-West region, despite repeated assurances by security agencies and government authorities that efforts are ongoing to restore peace.

As of the time of filing this report, security agencies have yet to issue an official statement on the incident, while the exact number of casualties and abducted persons remains unclear.

In related news, suspected bandits recently kidnapped a serving police officer attached to the Nigeria Police Force Academy, Wudil, Kano State, alongside two other men, subjecting them to brutal beatings and forcing them to publicly beg for ransom.

The victims were identified as Inspector Kabiru Bello Adamu, a serving officer at the Police Academy, Wudil; Muntari; and Musa Rabiu, also known as Danladi – all natives of Tofa Local Government Area.

A source told SaharaReporters that the victims were abducted while travelling from Rijiya Zaki Motor Park in Kano State to Kebbi State.

They were reportedly kidnapped on the way to Kebbi. The officer, Inspector Kabiru Bello, is a serving policeman with the Police Academy, Wudil,” the source said.
