Nollywood Actress, Mercy Aigbe Mourns As Tragedy Strikes Family

Popular Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe, has announced the death of her mother.

Naija News reports that the filmmaker announced the demise in a post via Instagram on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.

Mercy Aigbe shared an image of a broken heart alongside a candle and captioned the post, “RIP mum”.

Reacting to the post, many of her colleagues and fans took to the comment section to express their condolences and offer words of comfort to Mercy Aigbe.

Meanwhile, Nollywood filmmaker, Kazim Adeoti, has opened up about his marriage to his colleague, Mercy Aigbe, and how she left a lasting impression on him before they got married.

Naija News recalls that the marriage of the filmmakers created a buzz online over accusations that Mercy snatched Kazim from his first wife, Funsho Adeoti.

In an interview with Oyinmomo TV, Kazim said he admires Mercy’s honesty and straightforwardness, while recalling a 2011 movie in which his wife featured.

The movie producer stated that he was accustomed to people complaining about payment after shooting movies, but was genuinely shocked when Mercy appreciated his payment and told him she had been overpaid.

Kazim further described his wife as not only a woman, but a beautiful one, who acted with great integrity.
