Gospel Film Actor, ‘Baba Gbenro’ In Mount Zion Abattoir Series Is Dead
A veteran gospel film actor and producer, Moses Korede Are, widely recognized as Baba Gbenro in the Mount Zion series ‘Abattoir’, has reportedly died.
The sad news of Baba Gbenro’s death was announced on Thursday by fellow gospel actor and producer Oluwaseun Adejumobi on his verified Instagram account.
He wrote, “Heavens’s Gain Again”. A General Has Gone to rest”.
Naija News reports that Baba Gbenro, as his fans fondly call him, is one of the main actors in the popular Mount Zion series “Abattoir”.
Baba Gbenro reportedly died on Thursday at age 65 after a lengthy struggle with liver disease.
However, Mount Zion president, Pastor Mike Bamiloye, has not issued any statement to confirm this development, and neither have his children, who play major roles in the group’s production, made any comment on Baba Gbenro’s passing as of the time of filing this report.
He is the founder and International President of Calvary Movies Drama Ministry, located in Ogbomoso, Nigeria.
Established on September 2, 1995, Calvary Movies Drama Ministry International was created with the aim of utilizing drama evangelism to effectively convey the gospel and make its messages resonate with audiences.
In addition, he held the position of CEO at Calvary Movies Television, an online platform dedicated to Christian drama and evangelistic content.
Baba Gbenro has worked alongside prominent Christian film actors, such as Toluwalope Israel Adegbo and Evangelist Damilola Mike Bamiloye, and has been involved in the production and performance of numerous Christian films.
He is particularly well-known for his role in the Mount Zion drama series titled “Abattoir,” where he adopted the stage name “Baba Gbenro.”
