Photos of the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, arriving in court with what seems to be a Bible have surfaced online.

Naija News earlier reported that Emefiele arrived at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, around 9:18 am on Tuesday, for his arraignment.

Emefiele, who was dragged into the remote of justice by an official of the court, was seen holding on to the Bible tucked inside a red paperback.

The suspended CBN Governor is being arraigned before the presiding judge, Justice Nicholas Oweibo, over alleged illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

Recall that on June 9, President Bola Tinubu suspended Emefiele and appointed the Deputy Governor in charge of Operations Directorate, Folashodun Adebisi Shonubi, as the new helmsman.

The DSS announced a day later that Emefiele was in its custody under investigation.
