The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, joined the entire Nwajiuba family at the burial ceremony of their father, Sir Jonah Chukwudoro Nwajiuba, on Thursday.

Obi said he joined the former Vice Chancellor of Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike in Anambra State, Prof. Chinedu Nwajiuba, and the former Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, at the event held at Umuezeala Nsu, in Ehime Mbano, Imo State.

In a tweet via his verified Twitter handle on Friday, Obi said the deceased was a remarkable leader in his community and contributed immeasurably to the growth and development of his community, despite having a successful career.

The former Governor of Anambra State, therefore, asked God to continue to bless the Nwajiuba family always following the death of their patriarch.

He wrote: “Yesterday, I joined Prof. Chinedu Nwajiuba, Former V.C. of Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu- Alike, and Hon Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, Former Minister of State for Education, and the entire Nwajiuba family at the burial ceremony of their father, Sir Jonah Chukwudoro Nwajiuba, at Umuezeala Nsu, in Ehime Mbano, Imo State.

“Late Sir J.C. Nwajiuba, despite having a successful career, was a remarkable leader in his community and contributed immeasurably to the growth and development of his community.

“He was a devout Christian who lived for peace and love for all and impacted the same values in his children. May God Almighty grant him eternal rest and grant his family, Umuezeala Nsu autonomous community, and all who mourn him, the fortitude to bear his irreplaceable loss.

“May God almighty continue to bless the Nwajiuba family always.”
