Vice President Shettima, 36 Govs In Meeting Over Fuel Subsidy

Vice President, Kashim Shettima is leading the second National Economic Council (NEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The NEC comprises the governors of all 36 states, finance ministers, the Central Bank of Nigeria’s governor, and the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, among others.

The meeting, which was scheduled to start at 11 a.m., had early attendees that included Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Nasarawa state Governor Abdullahi Sule, and the deputy governor of Enugu State, Barrister Ifeanyi Ossai.

Governors Inuwa Yahya of Gombe State, Dauda Lawan of Zamfara, Dikko Radda of Katsina, Abdulrahman Abdulrazak of Kwara, Dr. Alex Otti of Abia, and Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State were also in attendance.

Additional attendees included Senator Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Senator Uba Sani of Kaduna State, Sheriff Obrevwori of Delta, Nasir Idris of Kebbi, Prof. Charles Soludo of Anambra, Godwin Obaseki of Edo, Deputy governor David Onoja of Kogi state, Umaru Namadi of Jigawa state, Mai Mala Bunu of Yobe state, and Duoye Diri of Bayelsa.

Also present were Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom, Prince Bassey Otu of Cross River, acting governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Ahmad Aliu of Sokoto State, Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia of Benue, and Senator Hope Uzodimma of Imo.
