Queues Resurface In Abuja As Northern State Still Sells Fuel At N550 – [Videos]

Long queues resurfaced on Tuesday (today) in Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja, as a result of the recent hike in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), better known as fuel or petrol.

Naija News reported earlier that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) announced an increase in pump prices of petrol from 537 to 617 naira Per Litre.

The development has had several fuel stations across the country immediately hike their pump price, including NNPC filling stations.

This triggered panic buying as motorists raced to petrol stations across the city.

Information reaching this publication as of reporting time revealed that NNPC filling stations in Abuja witnessed brief queues, particularly the one located along Murtala Mohammed Express road, Kado.

At AA Rano Filing Station in Utako, there are vehicles on a long stretch within and outside the facility, Daily Trust claimed.

Several filling stations in Abuja are said to have extended the long queues to the road, compounding traffic woe.

Meanwhile, in some quarters, it was gathered that in Jigawa state, northwest Nigeria, fuel is still sold for ₦550 as of reporting time despite the NNPC increasing the fuel pump price from N537 to N617 per litre.
