#NigeriaDecides2023: Voters Raise Alarm Over Attack On INEC Officials And Electorates In Kogi

An incident of violence has erupted at Udaba Dekina in the Dekina LGA of Kogi state.

Naija News understands that some voters in the area took to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter to call for the intervention of the police.

According to a post by one, political thugs attacked INEC officials and some voters in the area.

@TMNewsNigeria tweeted that “A pocket of violence as political thugs attack @inecnigeria officials and other voters at Udaba Dekina, Dekina LGA of Kogi state. The area needs the attention of the @PoliceNG #NigeriaElections2023 #NigeriaDecides2023.”

Meanwhile, Naija News gathered that reports from the Kogi Senatorial district of Kogi State have been peaceful as voters started trooping out to cast their votes as early as 8 am.

Just like the electorate queued to vote peacefully in OgoriMangogo, Ajaokuta and Okehi local government areas, similar was reported from the Okene local government area.

In one of the polling units, in Adavi-Eba, Nuru Islamic Primary School polling 001 and 002, in Adavi local government area, the former Executive Director of Rural Electrification Agency, Dr Sanusi Ohiare cast his votes.

Ohiare who is also the All Progressive Congress (APC), governorship aspirant commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the introduction of the BVAS devices.

He also appreciated voters for maintaining calm, law and order, adding that so far election is peaceful in Kogi central.
