Accreditation and Voting have commenced at Polling Unit 001 of Gboloko Ward in Bassa Local Government Kogi State.

Naija News reports that there is tight security in the state as electorates troop out to cast their votes.

It was gathered that roads in Lokoja, the state capital and the usually buy Lokoja-Okene highway were somehow free of vehicular traffic.

The police were a sight to have mounted a roadblock on both sides of the dual carriageway on IBB Road in Lokoja, as officers on duty were seen denying access to a few vehicles, commercial motorcyclists, and tricycles.

Soldiers were also said to have mounted roadblocks at both Obajana Junction, Osara, and another point at about 10 kilometres from Obajana junction.

There is tight security in Kogi State to provide a conducive environment for voters in the ongoing Presidential and National Assembly elections.

The Nation observed that as early as 7 am roads in the state capital, Lokoja.
