Death is inevitable and the Nollywood industry, amidst the glitz and glamour that happened in 2022, also experienced sudden deaths that broke the internet and left fans grieving.

In this article, Naija News highlights five Nollywood stars who sadly bid farewell to their loved ones, shocking the entertainment industry to its core.

1.  Ada Ameh: The popular comic actress died on Sunday, July 17, 2022, after she slumped and was rushed to the hospital in Warri, Delta State, where she was pronounced dead.

Ada Ameh was said to have been a guest of an oil company’s top shot alongside the family when she suddenly collapsed.

Her demise came as a big shock to many fans and colleagues especially after she shared a video of herself, eating with the family on Sunday afternoon before her death.

Ada’s death came a few weeks after she cried out on social media about battling with depression and mental condition following the demise of her only child.

2. Rico Swavey: Former Big Brother Naija Housemate, Patrick Fakoya popularly known as Rico Swavey died on October 13, 2022.

The reality TV star was involved in a ghastly car accident that left him hospitalized and in critical condition.

3. Biyi Bamidele: The death of Bamidele came a few weeks before the premiere of his movie at the Toronto film festival and the release of his recent movie, Elesin Oba on Netflix.

The Nigerian Film director and writer, died on Sunday, August 7, 2022, and his daughter, Temi Bamidele announced the death in a statement but the cause of his death was not revealed.

4. Chinedu Bernards: The fast-rising Nollywood star collapsed while cleaning the chapel of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Enugu on 29 April. The actress was pronounced dead upon arrival at East Side Hospital in Enugu.

5. David Osagie: The 52-year-old veteran Nollywood star, who is known for playing the role of a king in movies, died on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, in his hotel room after a movie shoot, in the South East region.
