Rebecca Ikumelo: Family Breaks Silence On Daughter’s Death

The family of Rebecca Ikumelo, a 33-year-old lady who passed tragically following the incident outside the London concert of Asake, has mourned her death.

Naija News earlier reports that Ikumelo, who lives in Newham died after a stampede at the 02 Brixton Academy on Thursday, 15th where  Afrobeat artist, Asake was billed to perform, leading to eight people injured with four cases critical.

According to reports, Ikumelo died on Saturday, 17th after sustaining critical injuries at the crowd crush at O2 Academy Brixton on Thursday, saying she was a single mum-of-two.

In a statement, Rebecca’s family said: ‘Rebecca was a graduate of nursing. She was an adorable mother of two children who loved working with kids.

‘She was well respected in the family for her care, kindness, and love. Her parents call her Tosin (short for Oluwatosin) meaning “Lord is Worthy”.’

Rebecca is survived by two children. She was very popular on Tiktok with videos she shared about her journey in taking care of her autistic son.
