The sentencing of confessed internet fraudster, Ramon Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi has been shifted by the US Central District Court in California.

Naija News recalls that Hushpuppi following his arrest in Dubai in June 2020, was subsequently taken to the US where he pleaded guilty to multi-million-dollar fraud charges in July 2021.

Hushpuppi, in July 2021, agreed to plead guilty to the multi-million-dollar fraud charges slammed against him by the American government.

The internet fraudster entered into a plea bargain agreement with the US authorities in the hope of getting a lighter punishment.

The trial judge, Otis Wright in a notice released by the US authorities fixed November 7, 2022, as the date to sentence Hushpuppi.

The court announcement stating the shift in the date reads, “counsel is notified, the sentencing is continued to November 7, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. as to defendant Ramon Olorunwa Abbas.”

The sentence which was initially fixed by Judge Wright for February 14 was moved to the 11th of July, 2022, before it shifted to September 21 and now November 7.

He has been in prison since his arrest in Dubai and rendition to the US in June 2020.

Hushpuppi who is not an American citizen will be deported after completing his jail term and paying up the amount to be restituted.
