Popular RnB superstar Robert Sylvester Kelly, popularly known as R Kelly has been ordered to pay $300,668 to one of his victims to cover the cost of her herpes and psychological treatments.

Naija News gathered that the singer was found guilty of coercing three minors into criminal sexual activity and producing three child sexual abuse videos.

He is also serving a 30-year sentence after prosecutors proved that he ran a decade-long sex trafficking enterprise through his music business.

One of the victims will receive over $300,000 to cover treatment for herpes she alleges he gave her, and the mental health care she sought out because of the abuse she faced.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York confirmed that Kelly must pay the unnamed woman and another victim identified as Stephanie.

The report continued: “Stephanie will be paid an undisclosed amount for her herpes treatment and psychological treatments. The cost of her herpes medication hasn’t been confirmed yet. Restitution was denied to a victim identified as Sonja.”

R.Kelly Trial

Since the 1990s, Kelly has been repeatedly accused of sexual abuse of young adults and minors.

However, the assault allegations against the singer received wide exposure after the 2019 Lifetime documentary ‘Surviving R Kelly’, which explored claims that an entourage of supporters protected Kelly and silenced his victims for decades.

Kelly had been arrested by federal authorities in Chicago back in 2019 and transferred to New York in June 2021.
