Former Presidential Aspirants Express Grievances, Speaks On Dumping APC

Former presidential aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have expressed their grievances on how they were treated after the presidential primary of the party.

Recall Bola Tinubu had defeated other presidential aspirants after gathering 1,271 votes to clinch the presidential ticket of the party.

Some of the ministers that withdrew from office to pursue their presidential ambition ever since they lost out to Tinubu have been inactive in party activities.

Top aides of the former ministers, Chibuike Amaechi (Transportation) Ogbonnaya Onu (Science and Technology), and Emeka Nwajiuba (minister of state for Education), revealed that their principals are not pleased.

They, however, stated that they would remain in the ruling party despite their grievances and treatment meted to them.

According to Leadership, Amaechi is not pleased with the relationship between the Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike and APC chieftains.

Onu on his party condemned APC for not zoning its presidential ticket to the South East during the convention.

Nwajiuba who did not attend the presidential primary, subsequently filed a suit at the federal high court seeking the disqualification of Tinubu and the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.

The aides and supporters of the former ministers, while speaking with Leadership, however, denied that the principals had been inactive in the party even though they are aggrieved.

They insisted they won’t dump the APC, noting that they are still active members of the party.

There are no indications if they would make the presidential campaign council of the party with the campaign season in view.
