Anxiety As PDP, Atiku Close Case Against Tinubu Today

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has condemned the murder of Sheikh Goni Aisami by some serving military men.

Naija News recalls that Sheikh Goni Aisami Gashua, last Friday, was murdered by two suspected soldiers, Lance Corporals John Gabriel and Adamu Gideon of the 241Recce Battalion, Nguru, Yobe State.

According to reports, Sheikh Aisami was driving back to Gashua from Nguru, when he offered to give a soldier a ride in his car from where he met him at the military check-point to Jaji-Maji in Karasuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State. However, he reportedly shot him dead in cold blood some kilometres away and called his colleague to assist in fleeing with the deceased vehicle.

Reacting to the gruesome murder of Aisami via a Facebook post, Atiku stated that it is a reflection of the depth of decay in a society that had lost respect for human life and dignity.

He said: “I am saddened by the news of the brutal murder of Sheikh Goni Aisami by culprits suspected to be serving military men. His death reflects the depth of decay in our society at present that has lost respect for human life and dignity.

“On behalf of my family, I wish to commiserate with the family of Sheikh Aisami, and I pray to Allah to console them.”
