Shettima Reacts To Tinubu's Decision To Remove Fuel Subsidy

The spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State, Cajethan Duke, has assured that members won’t dump the party in the state over the Muslim-Muslim presidential candidate for the 2023 presidential elections.

He assured that the Imo State chapter of the APC is fully behind the choice of Kashim Shettima as the running mate to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

According to Duke, the Imo APC members are not ready to be dethroned as the ruling party, hence nobody will resign or dump the party.

Naija News understands his submission comes as a reaction to reports that some members have dumped or planning to dump the APC in Imo State over the emergence of Shettima as Tinubu’s running mate for the 2023 presidential election.

He said, “I can tell you for a fact that Imo APC is intact, nobody has resigned and nobody will. Our people know that we are the ruling party and they are not ready to be outside.”

Naija News reports Tinubu on Sunday after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, announced Shettima as his running mate.

The announcement was greeted with mixed reactions but has led to some people across various states dumping the APC in protest of the Muslim-Muslim ticket.
