Some unknown gunmen have reportedly kidnapped an officer of the Nigerian Navy in Kogi State.

Reports reaching Naija News on Tuesday morning said the Naval officer, Musa Lawal with enlistment no. X12775 ABRP3 was abducted on Monday night.

The PUNCH reported that the officer serving with the Naval Headquarters in Abuja was whisked away from his residential home located behind Post Flood Housing Estate, in Lokoja at about 8:00 pm yesterday.

The assailants are said to have destroyed Lawal’s doors and windows before gaining entrance into his house.

Naija News learnt that the Naval officer was scheduled to depart for his station this morning before the unfortunate incident happened.

The kidnappers are said to have reached out to the wife of the victim an hour after the kidnap, demanding three million naira as ransom.

Narrating the unpleasant situation to newsmen, the wife of the kidnapped naval staff, Juliana Ida Musa said one of her husband’s hands was bleeding when he was being taken away.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Williams Ayah who was also contacted by The PUNCH, said the command is yet to be informed of the incident, but promised to find out from the relevant DPOs.
