Gunmen Attack Customs Officers Near Navy Base In Abia

A yet-to-be-ascertained number of residents have been kidnapped in Abuja when gunmen invaded their estate in the early hours of Monday.

The estate that was attacked is located in the Gwarinpa area of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, Naija News understands.

The gunmen who were said to have come with other weapons including bows, arrows, and machetes operated in the estate between 1am and 4 am.

Narrating the experience, a resident identified as Mohammed told Daily Trust on phone that the gunmen gained access to Genuine Estate after Efab Queens on 6th Avenue, Gwarinpa.

When contacted, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, DSP Josephine Adeh, described the incidence as a robbery case and not a kidnapping case.

She added that police operatives have been mobilized to the scene and promised to make their findings public once the details have more clarity.
