2023: APC Zones Presidency To South-West, VP To North-East
The All Progressive Congress, APC has reportedly agreed on a zoning arrangement for the big six positions in party and government at national level.
According to Tribune, a dependable source informed them that the APC has favored the South-West in producing the next President in Nigeria, while the North-East will produce a running mate.
The senate presidency will be returning to the South-East, while the North-West is scheduled for the Speakership slot.
The arrangement is quite similar to what the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 1999 presented as a governance outlook with Olusegun Obasanjo from the South-West as president and his deputy then, Atiku Abubakar from Adamawa in North-East.
Meanwhile, former President Olusegun Obasanjo has stated that Nigeria has retrogressed under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to the former leader, Nigerian efforts to build a nation has undergone significant decline since 2015.
He stated this on Saturday while speaking at an international forum organised by the Centre for Human Security and Dialogue at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State, as part of activities to mark his 85th birthday. Read more
