Some hours ago certain reports emerged in the Nigerian social media space suggesting the death of internet fraudster Ramon Abbas popularly known as Hushpuppi.

Naija News reports that the news emerged after a Nigerian journalist, Kemi Olunloyo made a tweet which was misinterpreted as her announcing the death of the fraudster.

She had written: “your boy has died o. They won’t announce yet.”

Hushpuppi history

Hushpuppi became more popular after super Cop Abba Kyari was linked to the crimes he committed by document released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation(FBI).

The documents revealed that up until Hushpuppi arrest, the embattled police officer maintained a close relationship with him. It also revealed that Hushpuppi reportedly took Kyari on an all expensed paid trip to Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with a presidential treatment from the moment he landed at the airport.

Is Hushpuppi Dead?

There is no report from any verifiable news media both foreign and national which in any way states that Hushpuppi has died. The assumption of his death came from Olunloyo tweet which did not specifically say that the felon was actually dead.

This publication therefore reports that news of the death of Hushpuppi is unreal and brand it as ‘Fake News.’
