Police Officer Arrested, Locked For Threatening To Kill A Woman Over Family ‘Interference’

One Eric Ochieng, a police officer in Kenya, is reportedly cooling off in the cell after threatening to kill a woman who allegedly interfered in his family matters.

The said officer according to reports had issued a death threat to Lucy Atandi, a resident of the Police Line area in Migori town.

Their argument reportedly started after the Police Constable who was in discord with his wife, returned home and found the doors locked.

The Police personnel broke the padlocks and forcefully gained entrance into the house but no one was inside. Ochieng later learnt that his wife is in the neighbourhood hiding in Atandi’s house.

Having discovered his wife and children in Atandi’s care, Ochieng reportedly threatened to kill the woman for interfering in his family matters.

Atandi swiftly reported the threat to the Kenyan police in Suna East, Migori County and the culprit was trailed and arrested.

Ochieng had accused Atandi of influencing his wife to leave him.

The police report read in part; “It was reported by Lucy Atandi a resident of police line area within Migori town, that a person well known to her as Erick had gone to her house and started threatening that he will kill her after claiming that she was the one who incited his wife and children to leave him.”

“This prompted police officers from Migori Police Station to move down to the rental unit where Atandi resides. They arrested the suspect and took him to the police station.

“The officer was grilled and he revealed that he was attached to Kondele Police Station in Kisumu County. Ochieng’ had taken a three-day off to settle the differences with the wife when he was nabbed.”

The report noted further that the officer is currently held at Migori Police Station cells pending arraignment on Monday, February 7.
