Ganduje Presents Staff Of Office To Emir Of Gaya [Photo]

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has presented the staff of office to Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim, as the second Emir of Gaya.

The new Emir was appointed following the death of his 91-year-old father Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulkadir, on September 22, 2021.

Speaking after presenting the staff of office to the Emir on Saturday, Ganduje said his government appreciated the contributions rendered by traditional institutions in promoting peace and stability in the state.

He urged the Emir and other emirs in the state to continue to assist the government in providing security of lives and property.

The governor urged the Emir to remain a father to all his subjects without discrimination and to accord priority attention to education and agriculture in his emirate.

In his acceptance speech, the new Emir expressed gratitude to the Almighty for giving him the lifetime opportunity to attain the throne.

Ibrahim also thanked the Kano state government and the good people of Gaya emirate for finding him worthy to ascend the throne.

He, therefore, called on the good people of the Emirate to continue to assist the council in discharging its duties accordingly.

The new Emir promised to be just and fair to all people in the emirate.

While congratulating the new Emir, Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar II, preached peace and called for extreme prayers for leaders and the country at large.

He wished the new emir well and expressed confidence that he will lead by the way his late father lived on social justice in accordance with the teachings of Islam.

The event was graced by the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Bayero the Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Nasiru Bayero, and other royal fathers from within and outside the state and other top government officials.

Naija News reports that the Gaya Emirate is one of the four newly emirates created by the Ganduje administration in 2019.

Other newly created emirates were Rano, Bichi and Karaye, in addition to the existing Kano emirate council.
