Terrorists Abduct Students Of College Of Health Tech In Zamfara

Scores of travellers along Damaturu/Maiduguri Highway in Borno State have been reportedly abducted by the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters.

Naija News gathered that the passengers, who were travelling to Maiduguri, were kidnapped close to Benishiek town on Saturday morning.

A source told SaharaReporters that the passengers were ambushed by the terrorists and whisked away to an unknown destination.

“Yes, there was an attack on motorists this morning along Damaturu/Maiduguri Highway, these people abducted an unspecified number of passengers around Benishiek and Mainok axis. We don’t have more details than this,” the source said.

In other news, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Major-General Farouk Yahaya, has asked commanders to get ready for an increase in security challenges in the country in 2022.

Speaking on Friday at the closing ceremony of the COAS Annual Conference in Abuja, Yahaya also directed the commanders to train troops on night operations and anti-ambush drills to tackle the activities of criminals and violent state actors.

The Army Chief said the activities of the army have been appraised and efforts are being put in place towards better positioning to face the tasks ahead in 2022 and beyond.
