The trial of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, continues today at the Federal High Court, Abuja.

Justice Binta Nyako has postponed Kanu’s case to today for further hearing after rejecting his plea to be transferred from the custody of the Department of State Service, DSS, to Kuje correctional facility.

The IPOB leader, who is facing charges bordering on terrorism, treason and others, is being represented by Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor.

10:56: A video has emerged showing Nnamdi Kanu protesting the refusal of DSS operatives to allow his lawyers and associates into the premises of the court room.

10: 30: Justice Binta Nyako adjourns Nnamdi Kanu’s case till January 19 and 20 following the DSS refusal to allow some of the IPOB leader’s counsel into the court.

09:50: Mazi Nnamdi Kanu arrives the Federal High Court for the continuation of his trial under tight security.

Former Anambra State Governor, Chukwuemeka Ezeife, is presently at the Federal High Court in Abuja to witness the trial of Nnamdi Kanu.

Naija News reports that the former governor arrived at 8.27am on Wednesday alongside lawyers representing Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Joseph Ojobu and Chief Goddy Uwazurike.

08:50: The Department of State Services, DSS, has again, refused newsmen access to the court room where trial of detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, is expected to take place today.
