Kidnapper Shot Dead While Attempting To Collect Ransom In Kogi

A kidnapper has been killed by hunters while trying to collect ranson in Abobo village in Okehi local government council of Kogi state.

A hunter who was part of the team that killed the kidnapper who is a member of a three-man kidnap gang said he was shoot around 5.23am on Tuesday.

It was gathered that the kidnapper came from a hideout around Abobo area, behind Itakpe, metres from the highway.

A further had it that a hunter shot him and he died instantly and the hunters eventually rescued the victims held captive in the area.

The remains of the slain man and a gun recovered have been handed over to police in Okehi.

The Chairman of Okehi local government, Abdulraheem Ohiare Ozovehe, who visited the scene of the incident commended the hunters for engaging the kidnappers.

Ozovehe charged the people of the community to continue to support the security agents, vigilante and hunters in order to tame activities of kidnappers.

He expressed his administration determination to secure lives and property of entire people of the local government.
