Buhari Raises Alarm, Says Weapons From Russia-Ukraine War Now Slipping To Africa

Deregulation has reportedly been accepted as a policy by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC).

This was stated at a meeting which started at 8.37pm on Sunday, September 27, at the banquet hall of Aso Rock.

According to the Guardian, the deregulation was reluctantly agreed to by the NLC after so much pressure by other unions.

The news outlet added that the decision was influenced by petrol marketers, tanker owners and other stakeholders.

Reports also had it (as seen on Legitng) that the federal government has accepted to reverse the increment in the electricity tariffs.

Meanwhile, the report added that both labour unions will only take a final decision on the matter when it reached concrete agreement with government.

NaijaNews had earlier reported that Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, on Sunday met with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Gida Mustapha.

Naija News reports that the meeting was held due to the planned industrial action and protests by organized labour scheduled to commence on Monday, September 28, 2020.

The meeting between the trio was held at the official residence of the Vice-President inside the Presidential Villa.
